Car Service in Epping
Royal Automotive is a family-run, Repco Authorised Service workshop in Epping that has been servicing cars for local drivers since 2015. Whether your car is due for a basic service, a logbook service that protects your new car warranty, or a major service after years on the road, we inspect first, explain what we find, and only do extra work once you have said yes. All makes and models are welcome, including hybrids.

What is included in a car service at Royal Automotive
Every service starts with a technician looking over the car properly rather than working from a checklist alone. What happens next depends on the type of service your car needs.
Basic service
A basic service is the regular health check most cars need between the bigger scheduled visits. We change the engine oil and oil filter using an oil that meets your car's specification (commonly Penrite or Castrol), check and top up the fluids, set the tyre pressures, and carry out a general inspection of the brakes, tyres, belts, hoses, lights and underbody. Anything we notice is written up and reported to you. No extra repairs are started without your approval.
Logbook service
A logbook service follows your manufacturer's schedule for the kilometres or months your car has reached. We check the logbook and Repco Navigator to see exactly what that interval calls for, use parts and fluids that meet the required specification, inspect items before replacing them, and complete and stamp the book. Having your logbook service done at an independent workshop does not void your new car warranty, as long as the schedule is followed and appropriate parts are used. We cover this in more detail in our post on logbook servicing and your warranty.
Major service
A major service is a deeper visit that depends on the vehicle, its kilometres, its service history and the manufacturer schedule. It may include items such as spark plugs, air and cabin filters, coolant or brake fluid, and a closer look at the brakes, suspension and driveline. We do not replace parts simply because the history is unclear. If something is still in good condition, we tell you so and leave it alone.
Hybrid service
Hybrids need a workshop with the right scan tools and training. Our hybrid car service and repairs cover a broad range of makes, most often Toyota and Lexus, and include hybrid battery health testing alongside the normal service items. Please note that we do not service Tesla vehicles.
How we quote your service
We do not publish a fixed price list, and there is a good reason for that. The cost of a service depends on the vehicle, the oil and filters it takes, the kilometres it has reached and what the inspection turns up. Two cars booked for the “same” service can need quite different work. Instead, we assess your car from the vehicle details, the manufacturer schedule and a hands-on inspection, then give you a clear quote. If we find something else that needs attention, we call you and talk it through before any extra work begins. You can approve it on the spot or plan it for a later visit. Our post on what affects the cost of a car service in Epping explains the factors in plain terms.
How long a service takes
Most services take between one and three hours depending on the vehicle and the type of service. Many customers wait in our seating area or walk to the nearby shops while the work is done. If you would rather not wait, we have a few options:
- A courtesy car may be available by prior arrangement. Charges apply, so please ask when you book.
- Pick-up and drop-off may be available for nearby suburbs by arrangement.
- After-hours key drop-off and collection can be organised in advance.
- Customer parking is available at the workshop.
Makes and models we service
We service all makes and models, from everyday Toyota, Mazda, Hyundai, Kia, Honda and Ford models to European brands such as Volkswagen, Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz. Hybrid servicing is a particular strength of the workshop, and Toyota and Lexus hybrids are the ones we see most often. If you drive something less common, call us and we will tell you straight away whether it is a job we can take on.
Why a Repco Authorised Service workshop matters
Repco Authorised Service workshops are independent businesses that work to a national standard. For you, that means access to Repco Navigator, which gives our technicians the correct manufacturer service schedules and specifications for your car, quality parts and fluids that meet the required spec, and eligible work that may be supported by Repco’s nationwide warranty arrangements. Royal Automotive is also a VACC member. Parts we supply come with a warranty, subject to the part and supplier terms, and we confirm the warranty that applies to your job before the work starts.
Alongside servicing, the same team looks after engine diagnostics, car air conditioning, timing belts, tyres and roadworthy inspections, so if your service uncovers something that needs fixing, it can usually be done under the one roof.
Great service, honest advice, and a job well done. Highly recommended!
Frequently asked questions
How often should I get my car serviced?
Follow the interval in your logbook, which is usually every 10,000 to 15,000 km or every six to twelve months, whichever comes first. If you mostly do short trips around Epping, Mill Park and South Morang, the time interval matters as much as the kilometres because the engine rarely gets fully warm.
Can you service my new car without voiding the warranty?
Yes. Under Australian Consumer Law an independent workshop can carry out your logbook service, provided the manufacturer schedule is followed and appropriate parts are used. We do both, and we stamp your logbook.
Do I need to book, or can I just turn up?
Booking is best, as it means we can have the right oil and filters ready and give you a time. You can book online in a couple of minutes or call the workshop. If something has gone wrong suddenly, call first and we will fit you in where we can.
What happens if you find something else wrong with my car?
We stop, call you and explain what we have found, what it means and roughly what it would take to fix. Nothing extra is done until you give the go-ahead. If it can safely wait, we will say so.
Which payment options do you accept?
We accept cash, card, Afterpay and Zip. Approved account or fleet arrangements may be available for business customers. Ask us when you book.
